Welcome to Catherine's Hope for a Cure

My Name is Catherine Horowitz. I live in South Florida. I have Batten disease, a Neuronal Ceroid Lipofucsinosis (NCL) disorder. Myself and David Horowitz started Catherine’s Hope for a Cure to raise funds necessary to cure Batten disease. We have 2 young sons, Nicholas and Alex.

Batten disease is a progressive, always fatal, neurodegenerative disease in which there is no cure. There is dire need for funding to help find a cure and raise awareness to this devastating illness.

Any contribution you can make would be so greatly appreciated. If it is too late for me, it may not be for my children, and all others across the globe inflicted by Batten disease.
